Convert CGPA to percentage and back, using the CBSE ×9.5 convention.
The ×9.5 rule, explained
CBSE's official conversion multiplies CGPA by 9.5 to get the percentage — so 8.6 CGPA becomes 81.7%. It is a board-level convention, not a universal law of mathematics.
Other boards and universities publish their own formulas, and some ask for CGPA directly. For job forms and admissions, always follow the converting rule printed by your own institution.
